I've bought a few dresses from cottagecorewear and they are all comfortable, but this one is probably THE most comofrtable out of the bunch I own. Instead of using any zippers, ties or similar the dress uses mainly elastic to shape the garment over your body, which is the biggest contributing factor to its "comfiest" rating. It really redefines what "slipping" into your dress means, whether its from below or above!
The colour for the forest variant is beautiful. It's definitely a bit of a sage like green shade. The fabric is a bit thinner (even with the lining that every dress has), so together with the cut of the dress its definitely better for summer temperatures.
Other features is the fairly low back, shorter hem length (which is appreciated by this short girlie) and the POCKETS! Oda never forgets the pockets and it's so nice that it's the standard for this brand.
I have three things I'd like to point out. They're not any negatives, more like takeaways to consider if you are thinking about buying this dress:
- Bra straps are very visible in this dress due to the cut, so I'd recommend wearing pasties or a strapless bra, unless you are planning on layering this dress with something that would cover the bra straps.
- I wore this dress many days this summer. I cover all my exposed skin with sunscreen, so after a few hours of wear small sunscreen spots would would always show up where I would normally lift my skirt. These spots can be quite visible due to the colour of the dress, but they always disappear after washing the garment.
- Do keep in mind that there's a lot of exposed elastic in this dress that might feel a bit scratchy for people with sensitive skin or sensory issues. I do recall noticing that way more in the beginning, but I quickly got used to it and I haven't noticed any of my own skin issues flaring while/after wearing this dress.
Overall an amazing dress that I will look forward to wear for many summers to come :)
I fell in love with the Aurora when It came out but I purchased It late because I wrongly thought that It was too pretty to fit me or that the bra was going to be seen. Well, let me tell you that I was wrong. Its stunning and looks like and feels like the princess dress that I always wanted as a kid. Its soft, colourful and so light and breathable that its going to be my must wear in the hot days Of summer in Spain. For measures I bougth a 2XL since I have a bust of 105 cm, a waist Of 95 cm and hips Of 118 cm and It fits perfectly. Oda is just a genius for design this dress with so much room for my bloats as I have IBS. Thanks again Oda for making me feels pretty and in peace with my own body.
I am plus size and curvy with lipoedema which makes my thighs and upper arms be bigger and not in proportion to the rest of my body. I also have IBS which means I am bloated very very often. And let me tell you that this dress caters to it all <3
It is comfortable on my good days and my bad days and when I am bloated it doesnt feel tight and is not pushing or hurting me anywhere.
I would highly recommend this dress to anyone with the same-ish problems as I have, and everyone else!
The quality is very good and its a very breathable dress! Which is not easy to find for a woman with my measurements!
The only "complaint" I could possibly have for this dress is that I wish for me personally that there was even more room in the skirt, but due to my proportions being so different, then I need to get a size that would fit best in all areas. If I had gotten the biggest size(mine is a 4xl) then the chest and waist area might be too big, as it is perfect now. So literally it is a ME problem, not a CottageCore problem 😂
My measurements for anyone that is like me:
Bust: 125cm
Waist: 113cm
Hips at the widest part: ca 155cm.
This dress is incredibly amazing, I love the pockets, the flowiness of the fabric, and how it's breathable but not see through. I made the mistake of ordering a size down due to the elastic, and it's a little tight around the armpits unless I wear it off the shoulder, so do keep that in mind and stick to your regular size, as I can tell it would have been fine if I had done so. Even with that, it fits beautifully, and looks absolutely gorgeous. I'll definitely be back to order another colourway (in the correct size this time)!
I bought this dress as a bridesmaid dress for my cousins wedding. I had just a had a baby a few months before and my body was fluctuating, so I thought this would be perfect and it was! It’s so comfortable and made me feel so pretty. I love it and am so glad it will fit me through my changing sizes :). I was between a L/XL and I got the L and it was great. The quality is top notch, and I can’t wait to buy more from cottagecorewear!
