Size Guide

How to find your measurements:

  1. Measuring your bust
    Your bust should be measured at the fullest point of your breast, when wearing an unpadded garment. This is usually at the same point as that of your nipples. Ensure that the tape is parallel with the floor, all the way around. Ideally ask a friend or use a mirror to double check. 
  2. Measuring your waist
    Find your natural waist by bending from side to side. The point where your waist creases is your natural waist - usually situated right above your belly button. 
  3. Measuring your hips
    Put your legs together and stand straight. Find the widest part of your rear and measure around, ensuring the tape is parallel to the floor.

Welcome the colder months in the gorgeous dark green Woodland Capelet.

As most of you know, a lot of my pieces are inspired by my Norwegian heritage. And the Woodland Capelet is no exception. For most of Norway's history, high quality wool pieces have been a necessity. Norwegian winters are long, dark and cold. And polyester will not do against the biting cold of Norwegian Januarys. I wanted to make that key warm piece in your wardrobe a tad bit cuter, and so came the Woodland Cape. 

She features a complete circle waterfall design - made to fall off your shoulders with elegance and volume. For those windier days and the fantasy inspired woodland walks, the capelet also has a hood. The Woodland cape comes together with the delicate silver clasps - inspired by traditional fastenings of the national costumes of Norway, our bunads.

Review our sizes on our sizing page for more information on choosing your perfect fit. If between sizes, we recommend going with your bust size or sizing down due to the already oversized nature of the capelet. And if in doubt, you can always contact us for help in making your decision!

Made in 100% wool with a silver metal clasp. The capelet measures 15 inches at center back and 12 inches at front length, measures from nape to hem on a size M. Length slightly adjusts with sizing up or down. We advice wearing a layer underneath the capelet, for cleanliness and comfort. Please care for the capelet as you would any other wool piece, ideally by hand washing. Original design by CottagecoreWear in-house, and manufactured in a limited quantity in collaboration with a small ethical production site in Hong Kong. We ship all our pieces from our offices in Norway.

Cute outerwear :)

Wearing the capelet with the Wine Frøya as a skirt, Wayfarer Blouse, and a Stay. I normally get a size 2XS for dresses, but decided to get a size S for the capelet because I planned on layering. I think the smaller sizes would have worked well too though, because it's quite roomy (If similar items release in the future, I might actually go for a smaller size just to see how it fits!). I like the capelet for when I need a little more warmth while still keeping my arms cool (because sometimes it feels too hot to wear a long sleeve coat/jacket, but wearing no outwear at all feels too chilly). The capelet also looks cute with both skirts and high-waisted jeans. And just for fun, I had my husband try on the capelet because it looks like a hunter's cape :)
